Dusty & Rusty – 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Rampside

Instead of fighting off the invasive Volkswagen Beetles that kept swimming across the Atlantic in the 1950s, the folks at Chevrolet decided to just rip them off instead. Their efforts resulted in the first mass produced air-cooled American car, the Corvair, which first rolled out for the factory 1960 model year. Taking another page out of the German's playbook, Chevy turned the vehicle into a van and a truck, which gives us this 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Rampside. This one is available on Craigslist near Rochester, Minnesota, and is 1 of about 4,100 Rampsides produced for the year. Does the $3,650 asking price for this so-called barn find truck ramp you up? The owner states they haven't checked (whatever that means) the six-cylinder Turbo Air motor in the engine bay, which means they ...

Future Collectible – 1989 Shelby CSX

Caroll Shelby built many memorable racing and muscle cars. This 1989 Shelby CSX available on Craigslist outside of Seattle is not one of them. At least not yet. Based on the Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance of the era, the CSX (Carroll Shelby eXperimental) was a limited run vehicle badged as a Shelby, which 20 years earlier might have meant something. At $15,000, is this vehicle under or over ripe? The first CSXs showed up in 1987. A mere 750 were manufactured and priced at $13,495, approximately $30,000 in 2019. Not bad for a car with a 175 horsepower four banger turbo that went zero to 60 in 6.8 seconds. Seems slow? The 1965 Shelby GT350 hit the same mark in 6.5 seconds. But that's still like comparing a 1989 Dodge Shadow to a 1965 Shelby GT350, so... The next year, 19...

Dusty & Rusty – 1935 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton High Cab Pickup

The 1930s were obviously one of the most fun times in the United States. Everyone was roaming the country in search of work, running from insane dust storms, staying fit by eating very little and generally just having an excellent time. Oh wait, that's all terrible. What's also terrible is the condition of this 1935 Chevrolet High Cab 1/2 Ton Pickup that rolled out of the factory at the height of the Great Depression. Understandably, not a whole lot of these metal on wood cabbed trucks survive today. Not only were parts as scarce as bread, but the war effort saw a lot of old workhorses turned into bullets. Fortunately, this one on Craigslist from of Milwaukee was saved from Uncle Sam and a long list of other possible fates. But with a $15,500 asking price, does this old truck have a chan...
