April 14, 1912 – A Renault sinks aboard the Titanic

There are probably very few, if any, remnants left of a 1912 Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville that sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean after the ship it was being transported on, the RMS Titanic, struck an iceberg on this day in 1912. William Carter bought the vehicle in Europe and was having it shipped to New York City aboard the Oceanliner, which he and his family were also traveling on. Unlike the Renault, Carter and his family were rescued. The vehicle has never been located, despite many excursions that sought Titanic artifacts.
