5 Barn Find Cars & 1 Flying Machine Under $10,500 on Craigslist Right Now

You never know what you’ll find cruising through Craigslist ads from around the country. This selection is sure to have something for just about everyone, even if you prefer to fly than drive. It’ll be up to you to verify the “barn find” status of these rides, but each of the sellers of these fine vehicles claims that’s what they are. Without further ado, here are five barn finds for sale, all $10,500 or under.

1964 Chevrolet Biscayne – $3,400

1964 Chevrolet For Sale

The Chevrolet Biscayne was first introduced in 1958 as the brand’s least expensive full size car. That’s where it stayed throughout its production life, which lasted until 1972. This particular example, located in SE Michigan, is said to be a true barn find with just over 87,000 miles on its six cylinder and three speed Powerglide. It apparently runs well, but doesn’t stop. It’s dinged, dented, rusty and only has six holes in its block, so it’s not the most appealing car to most, especially without a title. It’s saving grace, perhaps being a two door. What would you do with it?

1948 CJ2a – $5,000

1948 CJ for sale

Located outside of Pueblo, Colorado, this CJ is ready to cruise. It runs, drives, shifts and stops and even comes with a very cool hardtop. The seller claims it is all original except having been converted to a 12 volt system, which is A-OK in my playbook. This rig has had quite a bit of work done to it, so for five grand, go have some fun!

1919 Dodge Brothers – $10,500

1919 Dodge for sale

This 1919 Dodge Brothers located near Plattsburgh, New York is the only reason the title of this article says $10,500 instead of $10,000. It was just too cool not to share. When this car rolled out of the Hamtramck, Michigan factory Dodge Brothers had only been making automobiles for five years. By 1920 they’d be the second largest automaker in the US. Unfortunately, both the brothers died that year, never having a chance to spend the fortune they’d made in the industry. In any case, you could now be the proud new owner of this 100 year old Dodge, which ran fine — 20 years ago.

1967 Ford F250 – $3,000

1967 Ford truck for sale

One must always appreciate a good workhorse, which is exactly what we appear to have here. This 1967 Ford F250 in central Minnesota has a running V8 connected to a freshly gone through 5 speed transmission. The bad? It needs a pushrod. The seller really hammers that point home, so I’ll trust them on it. However, if you can pour a concrete pad, you may be able to get this truck for the cost of the dirt you’re pouring it on.

1964 Dodge Dart GT – $7,990

1964 Dodge Dart convertible for sale

I’m going to take a wild guess that the seller of this 1967 Dodge Dart convertible is using the term barn find rather loosely, or purely for marketing. Located outside Raleigh, NC, this Dart appears to be in fine shape, minus a worn out top and a few bubbles of rust. It sports a slant six an a push button auto, which is less than exciting for a car dubbed a GT version. In any case, it is ready to cruise while you restore. The only question is, where’s the barn it came out of?

1960 Bensen Gyrocopter – $1,200

1960 Bensen Gyrocopter

This is probably why you’re here. I’m not going to lie, I really want this Benson Gyrocopter. Would I ever get it up in the air? Probably only by some ropes hanging from the rafters, but what a cool piece to have. I’m sure one of you has the right skill set and toolbox to get this thing back(?) in the air. The design was first launched in the 1950s and production continued until 1987. You can still get plans for these things if you want to build one in your garage

, but why do that when you can buy this one for just $1,200 outside of Rochester, NY? Second though, you better get those plans along with this thing, just to be safe.

So there you have it, five barn finds for sale under $10.5K, all available on Craigslist across the US. While more and more people move their listings to Facebook Marketplace, I will always take solace in scrolling through blue Craigslist ads, mindlessly looking for the perfect purchase, whatever that may be.
